Eat More Fruits and Veggies

  • At breakfast have a bowl of low-fat cereal with sliced apples, berries, or bananas. Add bell peppers, broccoli, or mushrooms to an omelet.
  • Have fruit as a mid-morning snack. Keep a bowl of fruit or raisins nearby. Try bell pepper strips and broccoli with low-fat ranch dip.
  • On a pizza ask for mushrooms, peppers, and onions. Ask for less cheese.
  • Soup season is coming! Select tomato or vegetable soups.
  • Order salads or stir-fried vegetables when eating out.
  • For a treat, try a fruit smoothie with whole fruit, ice cubes, and low-fat yogurt.
